Author visits are a great way for students to develop a lasting love of reading and writing. These visits provide the opportunity to see the face behind t all the words that go into creating a book. They get to interact with a published author in a fun way. As a former teacher, I enjoy getting back in the classroom with kids of all ages!
*I'm available to speak in Hamilton/Niagara/Buffalo area (Ontario/New York). If you are outside of this area, travel/accommodation fees will apply.
Can't afford the fee? Contact me and let me know your situation and we'll see if we can work something out.
Watch a clip of a Quick Session with Author Maria Antonia as she discusses how she brainstorms names for her writing projects.
This session begins with a reading from my picture book, The Christmas Elephant (illustrated by Laura Zarrin). It includes an activity and/or craft time.
This session begins with a reading from my picture book, Barnaby the Runaway Sheep (illustrated by Sayani Mukherjee). It includes some interactive games, activities, and/or craft time.
I will be offering a special 20-minute Zoom session in March.
This session is all about the creative writing process. I go over how to brainstorm characters and plot ideas, as well as outlining a story idea.
This session is all about theatre. We'll play some games and do a mock audition. We'll talk about ways to overcome stagefright and other things about drama.
This session can be geared toward your group. I'm happy to talk about ways to engage with your children/students with reading, or how to create your own lessons using books as your guide.
